Tanking Slurry System

A Tanking Slurry System is a combination of aggregates, chemicals and cements that combine to block water ingress through walls. It is applied via a brush in a slurry form and allowed to dry before applying at-least one more additional coat.

At Timsbury Preservation Services Ltd we are meticulous when is comes to doing the job right.

  • Our technicians will prepare the area by removing all render, plaster and paints from the wall.

  • All sub-standard mortar joints between the masonry will be raked out and repointed with a fresh sand and cement mix at a ratio of 3-1 incorporating a waterproof additive.

  • Now the wall is correctly prepared a first coat of tanking slurry will be applied. Once this is dry to the touch a second coat is applied ensuring an effective waterproof barrier.

  • Finally a spatter coat of sand and cement is applied to the wall to ensure a good key for the application of a render coat.
