Tanking Slurry System
A Tanking Slurry System is a combination of aggregates, chemicals and cements that combine to block water ingress through walls. It is applied via a brush in a slurry form and allowed to dry before applying at-least one more additional coat.
At Timsbury Preservation Services Ltd we are meticulous when is comes to doing the job right.
Our technicians will prepare the area by removing all render, plaster and paints from the wall.
All sub-standard mortar joints between the masonry will be raked out and repointed with a fresh sand and cement mix at a ratio of 3-1 incorporating a waterproof additive.
Now the wall is correctly prepared a first coat of tanking slurry will be applied. Once this is dry to the touch a second coat is applied ensuring an effective waterproof barrier.
Finally a spatter coat of sand and cement is applied to the wall to ensure a good key for the application of a render coat.
