Damp Proof Course (DPC) Injection Effective Rising Damp Treatment
A Damp Proof Course (DPC) injection is a fast, cost-effective solution for treating rising damp. It’s a modern remedial system designed to protect walls where the original damp proof course has failed, deteriorated, or was never installed.
How a DPC Injection Works
The process involves injecting a high-performance, silicone-based damp proof cream into pre-drilled holes along the mortar joints of the affected wall.
Once injected, the cream penetrates deep into the masonry and is absorbed into the surrounding material. This creates a durable, water-repellent barrier that prevents moisture from rising through the wall via capillary action — effectively stopping rising damp at its source.
Our Professional Installation Process
At Timsbury Preservation Services, we take pride in doing the job properly, ensuring long-lasting results.
Our treatment process includes:
1. Careful Preparation
Our technicians fully prepare the affected area, both internally and externally where required, before work begins.
2. Plaster Removal
Internally, damaged plaster is removed to a minimum height of 1.2 metres above ground level. This ensures all contaminated material is eliminated and the wall is ready for treatment.
3. Precision Injection
Boreholes are drilled horizontally into the mortar joints to the correct depth. The damp proof cream is then injected, penetrating the masonry and forming a continuous water-repelling barrier.
4. Protective Tanking System
To complete the process, two coats of tanking slurry are applied up to the height of plaster removal. This provides an additional protective barrier and ensures maximum resistance against future moisture penetration.
With expert installation and meticulous attention to detail, a professionally installed DPC injection provides a reliable, long-term solution to rising damp — protecting your property for years to come.
