Cavity Drain Membrane System
A Cavity Drain Membrane System is designed to control and direct the passage of water ingress to the base of the walls to either a soak away, drainage channel to an existing drainage point or to a sump and pump system for evacuation to an external drainage point.
Some membranes have a mesh face for direct plastering or for fixing dot and dab plasterboard systems. Clear membranes are plain and designed for flooring or where a wall is having a dry-lining finish. Our Surveyor will assess your project and design the correct Cavity Drain Membrane System for the job.
At Timsbury Preservation Services Ltd we are meticulous when is comes to doing the job right.
Our Technicians will prepare the treatment area by removing any existing plaster from the walls and excavating a channel at its base if required.
The wall membrane is then fixed from the base of the floor channel up to ceiling height using Quickseal membrane plugs. All membrane joints are sealed using bituminous rope and / or tapes.
If the installation of a pump and sump system is required then our technicians will install a PermaSEAL basement sump and pump system with drainage channel around the perimeter of the room as well as the addition of a Cavity Drain Membrane over the floor surface linking to the wall membrane.
