Damp Proof Course (DPC)
A Damp Proof Course is a fast and cost-efficient form of rising damp treatment. The process involves injecting a silicone-based damp proof cream into pre-drilled boreholes in the wall where The solution then penetrates the masonry and creates a water repellent barrier.
A Damp Proof Course injection is a remedial Damp Proof Course (DPC) utilised to damp proof walls where the original DPC has failed, deteriorated or not been installed.
A DPC injection is designed to seep deep into the masonry in order to prevent moisture from the ground rising up by capillary action and causing rising damp. The cream has a consistency that allows the active component to be absorbed which creates the water repellent barrier.
At Timsbury Preservation Services Ltd we are meticulous when is comes to doing the job right.
our technicians will prepare the area that requires treatment both internally and externally where required before the process begins.
The internal plaster will be removed from the walls to a minimum of 1.2M in height from ground level.
Boreholes will be drilled horizontally into the wall mortar joints to the correct depth and a damp proof course will be injected. The injected cream will penetrate the masonry surrounding the boreholes creating the water-repelling barrier.
Finally our technicians will apply Two coats of tanking slurry to the height of plaster removal ensuring a perfect barrier.
